This is Barefoot’s riding pad with some bags. It lets you ride without a saddle in a way that is comfortable for your horse. And you can take a few items with you, as well.
Most bareback pads or riding cushions are rather bad for the horse and cause discomfort rather than comfort, because the girth runs directly across the back and distributes all pressure onto one, maybe two spinous processes. Barefoot’s riding pads have V-girthing that distributes pressure along the entire riding pad. We deliberately decided against stirrup attachments as standing in stirrups would lead to pressure points.
This riding pad is padded with high density foam in alternating thickness and is very stable on the horse’s back due to an artificial rubber underside. The upper side is made from microfibers which ensure good grip for the rider even at high speed.
The girthing is stabilised by patches, which have real sheep wool on the underside. This way, the girth does not irritate the coat along the horse’s side. We recommend using this riding pad with our sheepskin girth.
